Together, we make it better for young people
Every day young people need the hospital’s help, it could be from an accident or because of an illness. It could be something that means a
quick visit, a short stay or it can be weeks and months of treatment. For some young people, with more complex difficulties, they can need the hospital from a young age to adulthood, meaning it becomes a huge part of their lives.
Whatever the case – hospital can feel lonely, scary, big, and impersonal. It can feel like your whole world is being put on hold. It can take you away from things that make you feel safe. Even adults feel this way when they come into hospital.
You help us to bring a better experience for those children and young people through your donations and support.
By little things, or by big interventions, Derriford Children’s Cancer Service, Children’s Happy Hospitals and Plymouth Hospitals Charity have transformed both the environment, and the support that children and young people receive.
From decorating wards to creating a playroom, creating and providing resources for patients to specialist medical equipment, providing toys or support to families – with your help, these funds have been working with and for young people in Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall to transform the way they feel about coming to hospital.
There is always more that you can help us do.
